Atletico Madrid 1–1 Real Madrid: Angel Correa's Last-gasp Draw Finishes Wild Match

Angel Correa scored a stoppage-time equalizer to secure a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in a LaLiga rivalry that had been halted in the second half.

In the 69th minute, home supporters hurled objects onto the pitch near Thibaut Courtois, bringing the game to a halt while the incident was resolved.

Shortly before that, Eder Militao opened the score for the visitors with a rifled attempt that deflected past Jan Oblak and into the net 64 minutes in.

The game was halted for around 20 minutes, and when the players returned to the field, Atletico poured on the pressure.

They ultimately leveled the score in the 95th minute, with replacement Correa rounding Courtois and rolling it into an empty net; the goal, first called offside, was awarded after a VAR review.

Diego Llorente was then sent out four minutes later for a violent challenge on Fran Garcia, and VAR upgraded his yellow card to a red.

Real Madrid is second in the standings with 18 points, three behind Barcelona and two ahead of Atletico in third after eight games.
